Something unexpected and brilliant landed in my inbox yesterday—an email from Doug (Battery), completely out of the blue, letting me know they’re setting up a record label and asking if I’d like to create all the artwork for it.
It’s exactly the kind of project I love, and honestly, they don’t come around often. I’ve worked with Doug before—did the cover for their EP Majesty, and another piece for a separate release around the same time, maybe four years ago.
This time, though, it’s bigger. And the timing couldn’t be better. As soon as I read it, I realised it could feed directly into my practice-based dissertation.
We’ve set up a Zoom call to talk it through. Feeling excited, slightly dazed, and very ready.
