I kept the momentum going and sent Doug a batch of early, sketchy ideas—just enough to get a sense of what’s resonating. It’s always helpful to get a reaction at this stage; otherwise, I’d just keep experimenting endlessly. For this project, I need to be more measured with my time, making sure I’m moving forward rather than circling.
Doug’s response was encouraging—he liked a few of the starter pieces, which helps narrow the field and gives me a clearer direction. That makes it easier to commit and start refining.
I’ve also followed up with him to clarify the brief and process, just to make sure we’re aligned before I go any further. It’s good to feel things starting to take shape.
